DESCRIPTION:Shawn came down with Lupus and a rare spinal disease called Transverse Myelitis which eventually paralyzed him from the chest down. Seven years later he became the first person at the National Institutes of Health to receive a stem cell transplant for Lupus. That transplant occurred ten years ago.\n\n\n\nSince the time of his transplant Shawn has completely overcome Lupus. Shawn currently can walk up to a mile a day on the treadmill and on March 7 of this year climbed the stairs of the Wells Fargo Building in downtown Salt Lake\, that's 24 stories!\n\n\n\nShawn continually is showing remarkable improvements and is making great strides  in his life.
