DESCRIPTION:Job Shadow Day\n\n\n\nResearch indicates that high school students who  make work-force connections are more likely to graduate and continue post-secondary education and training. This activity is designed to impress upon students the benefits of career exploration at an early age. The goal for the student is to: \n\n	Discover career opportunities \n	Engage in high school work-related classes\n	Enter post-secondary education with career oriented focus\n	Develop important work force connections and networks\n	Gain 'real world' experiences\n	Be inspired\n\nAs a job shadow sponsor\, Canyons School District asks that you allow the student to shadow someone in your business on Wednesday\, February 4 between 7:00-11:00 am (students will provide their own transportation). Job shadows look different depending on the company. They could include:\n\n\n	One to four hours\n	Company tours\n	Hands on experiences or observations\n	Soft skill discussions\n	Education/experience/training discussions\n\nFollowing the Job Shadow there will be a luncheon and motivational speaker from 12:00-1:00 pm for the student and sponsor. We kindly ask that your company or agency cover the cost of the luncheon for the student and employee ($20 per person).\n\n\n\nAt your earliest convenience\, could you please provide the name of the employee the student will be working with\, their position\, and contact information (including address of company).\n\n\n\nThank yo uso much for your willingness to help\, we receive such positive feedback from our students who have participated.
