Janice Taylor received her MBA from BYU; was the former Development Director for LifeLine a non-profit addiction recovery program; small business owner. She is now co-founder of the Bradley Center with Carrie Moore and serves as Board Chair and peer facilitator for support group meetings and events. Helps oversee volunteer training, program development and fundraising.
The Bradley Center is an interfaith-based community resource for grieving children and families. “Moving from Grief to Hope” describes the journey that children who lose a loved one encounters, as they try to make sense of a world that has often turned upside down. When children lose a parent, their primary source of safety, financial stability, nurturing and learning vanishes, leaving them devastated and wondering how they can move forward.
As mothers of 6 of the 17 children who lost their fathers suddenly in the 1996 Coca Cola corporate plane crash that killed 8 Utah men, Janice Taylor and Carrie Moore understand the devastation experienced by children and families who lose a family member. They have now chosen to use their own experiences in coping with tragedy as the catalyst for creating an organization to provide hope for others dealing with loss.
The Bradley Center now partners with Primary Children’s Hospital with educational seminars, Utah Valley University with student interns and programs for the student population. Since support groups began in 2011, the center has served more than 200 children and their parents/guardians at its South Jordan location, and 15 teens at Lakeridge Jr. High School in Orem.
