Job Shadow Day
Research indicates that high school students who make work-force connections are more likely to graduate and continue post-secondary education and training. This activity is designed to impress upon students the benefits of career exploration at an early age. The goal for the student is to:
- Discover career opportunities
- Engage in high school work-related classes
- Enter post-secondary education with career oriented focus
- Develop important work force connections and networks
- Gain 'real world' experiences
- Be inspired
- One to four hours
- Company tours
- Hands on experiences or observations
- Soft skill discussions
- Education/experience/training discussions
