Description

Emergency Preparedness for Historic Records is a three-part workshop designed to help initiate
a disaster-planning process for historic and artistic property, improve participants’ ability
to evaluate risks, and provide insights into actions that would help mitigate potential damage.
Randy Silverman, preservation librarian at the University of Utah’s Marriott Library and recognized
expert in document preservation, will teach participants about mitigation strategies
for protecting collections; help them complete a Risk Evaluation and Planning Self Survey
and a Pocket Response Plan (PReP) for historic and cultural property; and help to evaluate
physical building risks.
