Becky Kapp from Salt Lake County on Aging and Adult Services and Options.

Brief History on Becky

  • Graduated 1973 with Associates Degree in Nursing from Ricks College
  • Worked as a nurse at the bedside in various settings which included 10 years in the ICU, 3 years in Acute Rehab with Spinal Cord, Stroke and Ventilator Dependent patients, opened a SNF at Lake View Hospital and obtained the Health Facility Administrator License
  • In 1992 with the opening of the SNF, began my career in management, obtained my BSN and began the MBA program.  I obtained an MBA in 1995.
  • Chief Clinical at Lake View Hospital 1996-2000
  • Quality Management Consultant – Intermountain Healthcare Mar 2000-Nov 2000
  • Care Management Director – Urban Central Region, Intermountain Healthcare Nov 2000-Sept 2002
    • Responsible for senior services/planning for region
  • Nurse Administrator – Alta View Hospital Jan 2002-Dec 2004
  • Operations Officer – Urban Central Region Intermountain Healthcare Dec 2004-Dec 2006
    • Responsible for 12 departments within the region which included 1400 employees and several physician groups.
  • Administrator/CEO- Alta View Hospital Dec 2006-April 2012
    • Responsible for opening Senior Clinic at Alta View as well as planning for senior services throughout the region.  Became a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and was active in Utah Healthcare Executives.
  • Continuum of Care Director for Intermountain Healthcare Apr 2012-Jan 31st, 2014
  • Responsible for working with the SAO, Medical Group, SelectHealth, Hospitals and Clinical programs and service lines within Intermountain to foster a comprehensive, cohesive and coordinated approach to the care of the patients over time, in multiple environments and across the entire spectrum of healthcare service delivery.
  • Director for Salt Lake County Aging and Adult Services Feb 2014 to present
    • Serves as chief executive officer for the Division and is charged with ensuring the establishment, execution and oversight of all functions of administration and management.
  • Alternate Board Member for N4A (National Area Agency on Aging Association)
