SANDY, Utah, Sept. 3, 2014 – Locally-owned and operated, Blue Lemon Restaurant will celebrate the opening of a new restaurant at 11372 S. State Street, Sandy, Utah on Monday, Sept. 8. The new location that features fresh, natural gourmet dining at affordable prices, will open at 11 a.m. There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 10:50 a.m. by the Sandy Chamber of Commerce and samplings of free fresh baked goods throughout the day. 
 
The restaurant is also officially launching a free Blue Lemon payment app that day that allows customers to pay for their meals with their smart phones. Sept. 8-13, anyone who downloads the app and uses it to make a purchase at the new Blue Lemon in Sandy, will be entered into a random drawing to win prizes such as hats and T-shirts, and a grand prize of “Blue Lemon for a Year,” which is $30 of credit each month to purchase food. The winners will be notified via the app. 
 
Blue Lemon is the first restaurant on the west US coast to implement the Level Up brand app. By signing up for the app, customers are immediately rewarded $2 toward their first purchase and an additional $2 each time they refer the app to a friend via social media. People who sign up also receive special offers, free food on their birthday and $7 toward a purchase for every $100 spent at Blue Lemon.
 
“We’re elated to be one of the first Utah-based restaurants to bring the convenience of smart phone purchasing to its customers,” said Aaron Day, Blue Lemon co-owner with wife Lychelle Day. “We thought it was great timing to introduce the app with the launch of our Sandy restaurant. It’s so easy to download the free app, create an account with a credit card, and then just scan a QR code to pay for your food.”
 
The Sandy location is Blue Lemon’s fifth location in five years and will be similar in size and design to the chain’s location in Cottonwood Heights at 6910 S. Highland Drive. Other locations include 55 W. South Temple in Salt Lake City, at 11073 N. Alpine Hwy. in Highland and at 339 E. 2250 South in Ogden in November 2014.
